Bridgetown is the capital of the Atlantic Island Barbados. It is a town with 7.000 inhabitants. The most important export products are: rum, sugar and molasses (a kind of sirup). Besides that, tourism is the most important source of income. In 1628 Bridgetown (at that time ‘Town of Saint Michael’) was founded as a British colony. Arowak-indians are the native inhabitant of the island. Barbados is independent since 1966 and is known for its flying fish and Rihanna.
